Meet our European Football Academy Founders
Joel Hawes
Co-Founder
Joel Hawes is the co-founder of European Football Academy. Joel has 26 years of experience in the game of soccer from all around the globe. Joel is an ex semi-professional soccer player who played at a very competitive level in his homeland in England, Uk. He then spent time playing overseas in Australia and America. Joel has 8 years of coaching experience from England and USA. Joel possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with beginners to working with some of the best kids in the country at a younger age group. Joel currently coaches at the Pateadores Academy working with the U13 and U14 age groups which play at the highest level of youth soccer nationwide.
"Our goal is to develop youth soccer players to maximize their potential. Our indoor training provides a platform for the players to be challenged and become the best in tight areas and small spaces. To become the complete player, we train with technical excellence and to think quicker on and off the ball."
Graeme Jennings
Co founder
Graeme Jennings is our co-founder with a big reputation in Southern California for developing youth soccer players at the highest level.
Graeme also has an elite level of experience from his home country in England. With the combination of European and U.S. experiences, EFA hopes to bring both sides of that knowledge to educate and develop the youth of Southern California. Graem's prior positions included being the top coach in the younger age groups for LA Galaxy OC, Liverpool SoCal Academy, and was also the Boys' Director. Greame is now an Academy Director and head coach for Pateadores Pre Academy U12 and U13 teams.
"My objective is to provide sessions that maximize touches on the ball in a competitive, individual, and team environment. This gives players the opportunity to learn the game while developing their individual skills, teamwork, and passion.
Every player should aim high to become fundamentally sound, using both feet when touching or striking the ball (control, dribbling, passing and shooting). The ability to motivate yourself each time to practice at a game-like quality is crucial to development and success."
Who We Are
European Football Academy is a youth soccer program in Orange County. Our founders are from Europe and have added the European soccer philosophy to the coaching and development. Our curriculum is designed around developing youth soccer players' technical ball skills, game awareness, movement on and off the ball, game speed, and improving the decision making on the ball.
Our goal is to challenge our players to maximize their potential and develop them to be the best they can be.
We create age/level appropriate curriculum in a competitive but fun environment and develop players over a period of time in a culture that holds high standards and core values.
